[In third person, not first.]
It was yet another quiet day in the Palace of Twilight. The great marble pillars cast long shadows on the intricate floor tiles. From the large windows, you could see the cloudy skies, and the black fog rolling in. Resting at the end of this hall, sat a large throne, and residing upon the throne sat a Twili.
She wasn't just any Twili though, on her head rested a tiara, embedded with red jewels, that mirrored her sparkling crimson eyes. Her hair was long, and many shades of orange, it looked like the sky, right at the time of day when the sun fades, and light turns to dark. Her skin was a pale, blue color; on a human it would look unhealthy and sickly, but on this strange woman, it was hauntingly beautiful.
But there was something about her face, that set her apart from the others--ever since coming home from Hyrule, she'd always had the same saddened expression. She wasn't the same, laughing princess she'd once been; she was far more serious now, and she slept the days away. Her attendants had grown worried, and they tried everything in their power to cheer her up. All their efforts were in vein though, she began ignoring everything around her, nothing seemed to matter anymore. She mysteriously shattered all the mirrors in her bedroom, and when questioned why, she only rubbed her eyes, and muttered something about "Too many bad memories. . ."
"Something had to be done quickly, the ruler of Twilight was growing more and more depressed with each passing day."

The Princess of Hyrule sat upon her bed. A book in her hands, which described the old Hylian language. Studying was all she seemed to do since the Twilight had faded. Midna had gone with the twilight and Link had gone back to his home too. Everything was back to normal in Hyrule, except a little less happy.
Zelda flipped the next page of the old dusty book. Sighing, she read the pages, but didn't register anything in her mind. If there was only a way to speak to Midna again… the Princess thought.

A new scent had awoken her from the slumber. The creature rubbed her big, crimson eyes, whilst the scent burnt her nostrils. She pulled the covers off her small body and flopped onto the cold floor. Quietly, she scurried towards the window to open the curtains wide, to reveal total darkness. Scared, she continued to survey her Kingdom cloaked in black, until she noticed something in the distance. Large, the colour of blue splattered up against the black sky, symbols which weren't familiar to her. Dumbstruck, she gazed at the unknown until three charcoal figures fell out of the emblem, as though it were used as a portal. The creatures wandered through the grassy lands. They had the same unusual symbols placed upon their bellies as the portal. Their large heads swayed side to side as their thick whiskers trickled as though observing the growth.
How am I supposed to scare this vermin away? She thought to herself. Building the courage, she jumped out of the window, landing upon the soft, moist ground which surrounded a large swamp. Sucking the air into her gullet she blew a bubble from her mouth, aiming for the blackened figures, she shot, smacking one right in the head. The monster turned it's direction to face her. "Oh, no", she whispered. "That wasn't a clever idea." The monster started to make for it's move, leaping into the water, moving it's way towards her. The small, defenseless creature ran as fast as her tiny legs could carry. Climbing back through her window, screaming out of terror.

Midna let out another sigh, shifting her position slightly on her throne. "I have to get over myself, and stop moping around." A small voice in the back of her mind spoke clearly in her head. "Although, after leaving a place I had become very accustomed to--even fond of, I have the right to feel a bit melancholy." The voice assured.
Rising from her throne, and gracefully making her way across the palace hall, Midna stared out through the palace windows. The silhouette of town lingered in the distance; small specks of life moved, barely even noticeable. "Sometimes I wish I had been born a peasant." she thought to herself yet again. Nowadays she found herself thinking more than usual, and talking much less. She no longer even bothered to ask her royal advisors about the matters going on in the kingdom. Nothing seemed to matter anymore.
What even her advisors didn't know, was that at that very moment, Zant's flesh and blood, his family--was readying an attack. His two sons, Seir, and Ream--had recently recieved information that their father had been killed, by the 'Chosen Hero' no less. Their anger grew, and they began building an army of Twili, some of them who wanted to assist in finishing the job Zant couldn't finish; some of them too scared to resist Seir and Ream's orders.
The brother's had earlier tried to exit the Twilight realm, so they could finally travel to the world of Light, and dispose of this proclaimed hero; their plans backfired horribly, when they realized the mirror that connected the realms had been shattered. Now both Seir, and Ream decided to travel to the palace of Twilight, the princess was the only one who could've destroyed the mirror, surely she could fix it; if she valued her life, that is.
Still back safely in the palace, Midna had sent her attendants to draw her a bath; when she was finished, she headed off to bed early, she felt extremely tired, considering all she'd done was sit on a velvet chair all day. Before dozing off, she silently wondered to herself.."I wonder if they miss me in Hyrule..." She then fell into a deep sleep, not waking until the next afternoon.

The shrub-like creature scrurried down the halls, weaving through the courtyard. "Princess!?!" yelled a gaurd from behind. "Yes. What is it?" she asked, sounding irritated. "Shouldn't you ought to be in bed? It's early hours of the morning." "Please do not state the obvious to me." she snapped at him. "If you haven't noticed. Woodfall is covered in darkness, the Sun should have risen already." "Are you sure?" he asked, whilst observing the sky. The Princess clicked her toungue, showing strong signs of disprovel. "Where is Father?" She demanded. "Wouldn't the Deku King be asleep?" the gaurd answered, his face perplex. "He never sleeps", and at that point she continued to run through the maze which layed within the couryard untill she came across the main hall, it lead towards the Throne Room.
Music echoed, the sound of pipes and laughter from females. "Typical Father", she muttered, sounding quite disgusted. The mass of emerald leaves and pink flora which rested upon her head resembled hair. She tied it up into a thick pony tail and stormed into the room.
"FOOLISH FATHER!!" The Deku Princess bellowed. Her voice was remarkably strong and loud. The Deku King was caught off gaurd, he toppled over backwoods, whilst the young deku women scrambled to cover their naked bodies.
The Princess bounced upon the King's over sized belly and glared into his shocked face expression. "D-darling", stuttered the King. "You know the Throne Room is off limits after hours." "Well Father", she snapped. "While you and your so called geishas were... playing about, you haven't even noticed that it is morning." "But darling." he said, as he crawled back onto his scrawny legs, allowing her to slide off. "It's extremely early. Why don't you-" "Father!" The princess yelled. "I am not a child. All of Woodfall has been draped into shadow, darker than night itself. The sun should have risen hours ago. Monsters lurk, not native to these lands. Evil is upon us again." The King bent low to face her. "Princess, you are having dreams. If evil was "upon" us again. The guards would have awknowledge me of it-" Once again the Princess leaped upon him, jumping up and down upon his stomach. "Dad! I am serious." The King heaved a heavy sigh, as again he crawled back upon his feet. "You are becoming more of your mother, each passing week." "Good. At least one of us is", she rebutted.

Midna awoke in mid-afternoon the next day; letting out a loud yawn, and stretching her arms high above her head, she put on the silk robe that was draped over a nearby velvet chair, and decided to walk through the palace. Who cared if she was given yet another lecture about waking up at noon? She certainly didn't, it seemed like everything in her life was on hold, she had been moping around ever since she'd come home. "I thought I'd be happy to finally return to my realm." The small voice in her head spoke clearly again. "Even my people are starting to notice the change in my behavior." Midna continued to stroll in the long hallways of the palace, staring at the portraits of her ancestors that lined the walls. "I bet none of them would ever be sad because they missed the world of Light." She stayed deep in thought, even as she strolled through the doors that lead to the palace gardens; she didn't pay very much attention to her surroundings. Finally looking up, Midna realized that something was very wrong--all the palace guards where gone. She walked around the garden looking at all the areas where the gaurds usually stood. "Where is everyone?" she asked aloud, her voice holding a tone of fear; she set off, looking for anyone who could tell her what was going on.
