The sun rose high in the deep blue sky and shined with all of its stregnth beaming through many cumolous clouds while a gentle breeze raced through the lush green grass. It's a day like today that you'd find Link fishing in the fishing pond of Lake Hylia. Twenty rupees down the drain but it is a lot of fun in Link's case.
He loved to fish, especially in the Lake Hylia. Link always seemed to catch more fish than the average fisherman, and he liked it that way.
Link was fishing for fifth catch of the day when sometime across the Lake got his eye.

Ember soared on an air current high above the ground, angling her wings to glide along. The warm breeze whipped through her golden blonde hair which she had tied back before taking flight to keep it away from her face. For once things seemed to be going her way and she felt completely free. Ember glanced down and caught sight of the azure, beautiful Lake Hylia that was glittering in the midday sun.
'It's so beautiful here...'
She caught sight of a smaller, inclosed pond on a small island. It piqued her curiosity, she could see there was someone sitting beside it. It looked that they were fishing but she couldn't be sure but there was no harm in taking a look. Ember started her descent and landed gently on the shoreline across from Link, carefully folding her wings.

Link never recalled a creature like her roaming the Hyrule kingdom; or anywhere for that matter. He let his curiosity get the best of him and before he new it, he was rowing to the shoreline where the young creature stood.
"Hello," he greeted with a friendly smile on his face. "Are you new to Hyrule? I've never seen you around here." She looked at him in a puzzled manner. Link began to blush only by a little because of the awkward moment.
He cleared his throat and continued, "I'm sorry, I haven't even introduce myself. My name is Link." He took in hand out and reached it into the woman's reach. He was sitting in his boat was wouldn't stand up so he assumed a reach of his hand would be just as fine as standing to shake.

Ember hesitated briefly before taking Link's hand with a vague smile and shaking it, she could tell by Link's curious expression at his glancing at her wings that he, like many who came into contact with her had never seen a Dreamscaper.
"Nice to meet you Link, I'm Ember Severin."
It took her a moment of studying his face to realise his features were the mirror image of Dark's, the only difference was the colouring. Is this what he had meant by reffering to himself as a shadow? Ember decided it would be best not to ask. She then noticed the slight blush on the young man's face, why in Hyrule was he blushing?

"It's a pleasure meeting you, Ember," he said with a cheerful smile. But he didn't make eye contact with her, he was too busy studying her wings. He thought it best not to ask.
"You like fishing?"

Ember noticed Link was staring at her wings and immediately furled them in, tightly on either side of her spine. She knew that it was probably an unusual phenomenon to see a person with wings but it made her feel like she didn't fit in anywhere...
"I've never tried."
She mumbled in reply, trying to distract him from staring at her like that. Ember had missed out on trying a lot of things since being on the run, she never got the chance to make real friends or really live. That wasn't an option when you put people in danger just by being around them.

Link's attention drew back to Ember, herself. He's jaw dropped wide open in surprise. Link would think everyone's gone fishing before since the residence of the Hyrule Kingdom live near a lake.
"Never? Well, maybe today's the day you get to get fishing." Link pulled out a spare fishing rod from the floor of the row boat.
"I have a spare right here." Link was determined to get this stranger fishing for her first time, and hopes she'll enjoy herself.

Link's reponse took Ember slightly by suprise, now he seemed determined to get her into that boat. She looked slightly anxious, already calculating possible escape routes...it was an automatic thing from years of running.
"Well...I guess I'll give it a try."
The boat looked close enough to get onto from the shore and Ember managed it without falling into the water.

Link padled the boat to the very center of the pond. He looked back to see how his new friend was doing. Link smiled warmly and spoke in a pleasant tone.
"I'm sorry for being so sudden. I just enjoy fishing so much and I feel others should enjoy it as much as I do."
Link turned back around to continue padling.
"I'm sorry, but I don't think I've ever asked where you are from."

"Erm..."
'Just great...'
Ember didn't want to reveal her past to a person she barely knew and instead named the first town that popped into her head.
"I'm from in Ilyria, it's to the far west."
She glanced over the side of the boat at the fish swimming just below the surface, obviously curious about the boat. For a while Ember focused her attention on them, trying to avoid Link's questions. Ember picked up the fishing rod and finally caught Link's eyes.
"How do you use this contraption anyway?"

Link laughed in his throat and stopped paddling.
"You lean it back behind your shoulder, like this."
Link took his pole and did as he said.
"And throw!"
Link cast the rod over his shoulder forward and the fishing line went a few yards.
"Then, when you feel a tug on your rod, you reel it back in, like this."
Link rolled the line back to him.

Ember watched Link's actions carefully and when she took a turn at casting it went a surprisingly long way and snagged the hat directly off the owner of the fishing pond. When Ember reeled it back in and held the dripping wet hat up much to the protests of the man behind the counter, she blushed profusely.
"I don't think I was meant to catch that..."
She mumbled, her skin colour now resembling sunburn.

Link tried to contain himself from laughing and took the hat.
"We'll give it back later."
Link cast his line and looked back at Ember as a signal to mimic him.

Ember mimicked Link's action and this time didn't snatch any hats off some poor, unsuspecting man. At first she couldn't feel anything tugging on it and relaxed, glancing up at the sky. She could understand why Link liked fishing so much, it was very calming for the nerves and Ember noticed that she wasn't so on edge anymore. She didn't feel the tug on the end of her line at her first until the sudden pull jerked her a little way forwards.
"I think I've got somethi-"
Another jerk interrupted her, she didn't want to fall out of the boat! Wet wings was never pleasant!

"Oh! You got a bite! Reel it in! Reel it in!"
Link wanted to help because she was new at it, but he knew better. She has to learn on her own.
Then Link felt a jerk on his line as well. As his rod curved, he reeled in the fighting fish.
