Another gorgeous day at Lon Lon Ranch. The sun rose high above the land and shined with all of it's might. A gentle breezed raced through the lushed emerald green grass and through Epona's snow white mane.
Link rode her swiftly through the pasture to increase her agility. He hasn't trained her like this in a long time, and he knew that. Epona was getting worn out from the sharp turns and feeling the heat beating down on her.
Link finally brought her to a halt and felt her chest. She was soaked in sweat. He decided to mount off of her and lead her to the grass to eat as he rest under a near by oak tree. Link slipped his hat over his eyes, and soon enough, he was sound asleep.

Lydia loved heat. She loved fire, anything that didn't extinguish her anger she kept in. So, right now she loved the sun...but not when she had to walk. She was in need of a horse, otherwise it would take her years to find the power of the Triforce and wield it.
Lon Lon Ranch lay in the dead center of the vast kingdom of Hyrule and Lydia knew it was well known of it's milk and horses. Surely she would find some fine horses there.
Her assumption came true as she strolled inside. Looking out toward the corral she noticed a boy riding a swift, fast horse. The both of them had impressed her...and Lydia knew that she should get a hold of that horse. Her chance came when the boy brought the horse to a stop, and he decided to take a nap.
Lydia quickly strolled up to the horse, but not before grabbing a shiny red apple from the bucket full nearby. She had learned while living in her village that you must first, always, gain the horses trust.
"Hey girl..." She said getting the horse's attention. She presented the apple. "You're very pretty aren't you?" She quickly gazed at the boy, whose face was hidden behind his hat. "Is that your friend?" She whispered. Hoping not to wake him.

Link continued to sleep unaware of what was occurring.
He drempt peacefully of a land of food; chocolate roads, broccoli trees, rice ball rocks, sushi fish, Lon Lon Milk lakes, marshmallow clouds, etc. But all of his dreaming stirred an appetite suited for an horse.
Link's stomach roared loud enough for Link to regain consciousness. Taking his hat off his eyes, he sees Epona walking cautiously.
"What's the matter girl?"
Link looks in the direction Epona was walking and found a woman reaching out an apple. He had never seen nor met this woman before, but she seemed to have wanted something with Epona.
"Hey!"
Link greeted her from a distance waving from his seat. He was always known to be polite to anyone, but this woman seemed to give Link a vague bad vibe. He ignored his instincts and walked on over to her.

Lydia snapped her head to the side and forced herself to not reach for her sais. She would play it safe for right now.
"Oh, I'm sorry...I was just being friendly..." She replied innocently and gave him a warm smile. It was rather fake, but only she knew. "I suppose she doesn't like apples?"

"No, Epona loves apples! She just hates being outsmarted so she likes to be cautious."
Link knew better than to lie, but he did not want her to know. Epona was getting the same vibe Link was getting about this woman. Usually, Epona would gallop quickly to divour that apple in a split second, but Epona did not trust this lady one bit, and Link knew that.
He petted Epona and gave her a look. Link wanted to keep a close eye on her, but still maintain a polite and open personality.
"So, I have never seen you wondering around Hyrule before. You new to the Hyrule Kingdom?"

For a split second, it probably would have seemed that Lydia's expression on her features and the light in her eyes turned to anger and sadness, but before most could notice, she blink and shook her head slightly, and tugged a hair behind her ear. "Yes...I'm new to this land..."
Lydia began to grow a bit impatient and tried not to show it. Maybe it was the touchy subject...or maybe she was angry because she had to come up with a different plan to get the horse. Who knew.
She looked up and gazed at the boy and he deemed familiar. "What's your name?"
