How do they act: Xaro is a double-edged sword, to sum him up simply. He is the kind type, but push him too far, and expect his wrath in full force, as well as his completely twisted sense of humor when provoked. He catches on to what people are saying or what they are doing pretty quick, most of the time. Xaro's a funny guy, but the darker side of him tends to twist that sometimes. He is unpredictable when it comes to personality.
One minute, he'll be chatting with someone, then they say something that provokes him, and their bodies are pinned to the wall by their own arms the next minute. His personality had been twisted and molded over the years, so in all honesty, he wasn't the killer he is now. He used to be shy, and would run from a fight. Now he welcomes it with weapon in hand. So, to sum it up again, he's a loose cannon.
History
Father: Ugri Nightshade [Deceased]
Mother: May Nightshade [Deceased]
Older Brother: Sutak Nightshade [Missing]
Younger Brother: Ixrai Nightshade [Missing]
Story
Xaro was born in a peaceful town, south of Hyrule Castle. The town was indeed an "axis" town, where all races could stop by and do whatever they pleased. The guards were especially trained to handle skirmishes against inter-race brawls, so everything was orderly. Xaro's father owned a blacksmith shop, while his mother did fletching. His older brother helped with the blacksmith shop, and Xaro was stuck with his younger brother for the day. Usually, they would help their mother out with the fletching, but as boys do, they got into trouble one day. BIG trouble. Both were playing a game with wooden swords when they bumped into someone with a hood and cloak on. Not a good sign.
Mother had taught them to apologize to people when they run into them, so they did, but that wasn't enough. The tall figure bent down and offered the boys a little something in return for a task. They agreed, but they had no idea that the task was a hoax. Ixrai went off to go tell mom, and Xaro, not wanting to get into any MORE trouble, family or not, took off by himself, with his wooden sword. The figure had told him to go look for a rare blue mushroom that only grew in a special cave. When he finally went into the cave, a steel cage was dropped on him from above.
He was trapped.
Ixrai told the family, and the parents wondered where their middle child had gone to. Days went by, and still no sign of Xaro. The figure attacked with swarms of monsters from the darkness, hideous things that could take on any form of anyone's worst nightmare. It removed it's cloak and hood, revealing a gruesome sight. It was an enormous bat-like beast, that stood on it's hind clawed feet, had enormous wings, fangs on the top-jaw the size of daggers, and one bright red metal eye in the right eye socket, the other a dull red in contrast. The inside of it's mouth was enveloped in a red glow. The shoulder spikes moved like fingers...in fact...they were claws! Just like the clawed hands on the creature, there were two claws and a clawed thumb on the wing-arms of the bat-beast. By the beast's torso, it was female, but the beast was so scaly, it didn't need clothes and still look presentable. The face looked like a vampire bat's.
She bellowed, in a screechy voice, "All shall burn! Leave none alive!"
Xaro's father was killed in that fight, so was his mother, but the two brothers escaped the onslaught, unable to look back on their former home as it was torn asunder. They wondered...where was Xaro?
Xaro was a captive and soldier for the bat-lady...and now...sixteen years later...he is still her soldier. She was eventually banished to the Shadow Temple by the Goddesses for her devilish deed. Later, he learned that she was the dreaded Dreadwing The Bloodthirsty, a mistress of the shadows and of the mind. Her motives are still unclear, and Xaro's finding a way to be released from her shackles, chains, and cages.
Which leads to his current story...
