As Zelda asked me that question, I took a deep sigh and rolled my eyes. I felt so inferior talking to the princess of Hyrule, while I am only a mere princess of the Zora. Zelda was treated with such royalty and had so much protection over her. But me, on the other hand, my kingdom had no security and my father did not care at all. I put my hands on my hips and grumbled out an answer.
“Yes… yes.. I am allowed to leave the Domain when I please. My father is so careless, it bothers me so much! He usually sends me out to the market to run errands all the time, anyway.”
I re-adjusted the wrap around my aquatic body and looked at the Princess. I suppose you could say that I envied her a little bit. But I guess every girl in Hyrule looks up to her, so it truly is nothing new for her to hear. I didn’t want to tell Zelda that, because I didn’t want to seem like a suck-up or even immature. I simply acknowledged the fact of how much ‘better’ she was then me.
“Ah, well you may not like the fact that you are always locked up, but it actually shows a great deal of...um how to say this...” I hesitated for a moment to think of the right word, and then it finally came to me, “It shows your superiority, I guess you could say. And that really is a good thing. It is something that people look up to!”
I smiled politely at the Princess, trying to show my appreciation towards her.

Pacing, I pressed my hands against my forearms to hug myself. I knew I had superiority, men asked for my hand in marriage as soon as they see me; woman compliment me on my beauty. Any minute I step out of the castle I could be killed or hurt by someone against the way my father rules this kingdom.
"Superiority may be a positive aspect, but it definitely is a negative one," I shouted angrily. "I can't step foot outside my castle gates without a guard or my father! As soon as someone sees my face a whole riot breaks out around me…"
I shook my head upset. I had no freedom and no life. My life was my kingdom. I will be married off and sit on a throne as my king will make the rules.

A frown appeared on my face as I heard Zelda talk of her life. Her life was being confined in that castle, and I felt saddened as I heard what it was like living as Princess Zelda. It was not at all what I thought it would be like.
“Aw, Zelda… I’m so sorry. I never knew that things were that strict around the castle. I am so used to the freedom in my kingdom, I never would’ve guessed that things were as harsh as you say they are.”
I tilted my head and shrugged at her. I tried to show some sympathy so that she would know that I am trying my best to understand how things are going for her.

"When I become queen I want to change the rules for my kingdom," I whispered. "I will let my children have freedom."
I decided I should stop complaining to the poor Princess Ruto. She was most likely annoyed by constant complaints. Smiling, I shook my head. There was no point in bragging about the faults of my kingdom. I will fix them when I become queen.
"Well Princess Ruto why haven't you and your father come to my kingdom for so long?" I questioned curiously. They were royalty, I wonder why my father had never invited them to royal dinners.

I shrugged and thought for a moment about why we never really went to the castle very often. I can only recall the one time I visited when I was very young. And ever since then, I’ve never been inside the castle walls! It was a bit odd, since I was the Princess of the entire Zora race, and my father was king. But perhaps the reason was because of my father; that usually was always the reason why.
“To be honest with you, I really don’t know! I always wondered myself why we never visit the castle. Maybe its because my father is a bit shy around the royal court.”
I giggled a bit because I was slightly embarrassed to tell her about my clumsy and senseless father.
“You see, he really admires the king, and sometimes he really cannot put out the right words when speaking to him. He really never knows what to say when talking to the King of Hyrule.”

Aw, what a cute zora her father must be. My father; let's not get into that story; he tends to be more of an arrogant king. He probably made fun of the poor zora king. Oh well, I will serve a dinner for them. I'll make my father have a royal dinner and invite the whole royal zora family!
"Princess Ruto, I have an idea!" I exclaimed excitedly. To be honest, Ruto was probably the first girl I've talked to besides my guard Impa, who was probably running around the castle worried sick about me by now. "I am going to have my father sere a royal dinner party. You and your family, everyone royal in all of Hyrule will be invited!"
I was excited. I would invite my whole kingdom, warriors and royalty. We needed some people besides the guards, my father, and the servants in my castle.

“Really? You would do that? That would be great, Princess Zelda!”
My face lit up as she told me those words. The rain that still continued to pour down on us seemed to slowly come to an end and the scent that always came after the rainfall could be smelled. I closed my eyes and smiled, trying to picture the banquet in my head.
“That is such a wonderful idea. I haven’t been in the castle in years! And I will even be able to meet all of the royalty throughout Hyrule. I can’t wait!”
I felt a shock of excitement throughout my body. This idea she came up with would bring such joy to my kingdom and my father, especially. He would be so pleased to be able to speak with the King after all these years.
“And I’ll be sure that my father is a bit more outgoing. He will definitely speak with the King and not be so clumsy with his words.”
I laughed a bit because my father was so awkward when he was around the King. When my father receives the royal invitation he will be happy, yet nervous. I will certainly make sure he isn’t as stupid as he usually is.

I smiled at the Princess's happiness, "But you must keep it quiet until I talk with my father about this. He might say no at first, so I'll have to convince him to change his mind."
Now I have to think about what to say to him. I could tell him it will be to make our kingdom stand out more or make a statement as to not start a war. He could possibly believe that story. Maybe I should invite the seven sages…
"Once I have it all planned out I could send an invite to you and your father," I informed her simply. "We could start with a dinner and talk about unity between all the places: Kakariko, Kokiri Forest, Zora's domain, and any other place connected to Hyrule.
"Well then we could have a ball or something," I continued, my mouth running off. "What do you think?"

“I think that would be great! Absolutely great! It’s such a wonderful idea, Princess Zelda.”
She seemed to be as happy as I was, so I smiled even greater after she gave me all of these ideas. I had to make sure that I did not tell my father of this proposal until we got our invitation. Knowing him, he would jump out of his seat as soon as I told him and run to the castle at that moment! As excited I am, I have to make sure I don’t speak of this idea at all to anyone. The only concern I had was if her father would approve of this dinner. I’m sure that if Zelda talked him into it he would be fine with the idea. But just to make sure, I asked her about the circumstances.
“Well, are you certain that your father will approve of this? I’m just a little worried about that one thing.”
A bit of a concerned look appeared on my face as I asked her that, being unsure of what the King would say about all of this.

The princess thoughtfully placed her hand on her hip. Leaning to the side she answered, "Don't speak of this to anyone yet. I'm going to try and convince my father about this idea. It might be awhile, but you'll be the first to know!"
Placing my manicured hand inside my cloak pocket, I pulled out a white piece of paper. The type of paper I always carry around with me for reasons like this. Scribbling my name on it with a pen, I handed it over to Princess Ruto.
"With this paper you will always be welcome to Hyrule castle. If the guards give you any grief I'll be the first to know," I smirked at Ruto. "You should come visit me soon! We could have a girl's night! Maybe if this whole ball thing works we could get ready together!"
Remember, I don't have any sisters or girl friends that stay at the castle with me. I have Impa, but she was always about motherly things. I always get excited when I might be doing something with girls.

I took the note from Zelda and my face beamed with excitement. How exciting it would be to visit Zelda! I now was able to do it whenever I pleased.
“Thank you so much, Princess Zelda! I can’t wait to come and visit you sometime.”
I could just picture myself handing the note to a guard as he respectfully gives me a bow and I get royally escorted to Zelda’s throne! Well, maybe I’m over-exaggerating this a little too much, but it would still be an honor to be able to enter the castle and visit Zelda. She really doesn’t know how much this means to me, but I wish there was some way I could show my appreciation towards her.

I grinned as Ruto's face showed excitement. Let me say; I love when I make citizens in Hyrule happy. Of course, making them happy is supposed to be my Royal duty. Although some people, like my father, rather make themselves happy than the citizens.
"Well Ruto," I began sadly. "I really should be going now if I don't want to get caught. I will however, talk to my father right away and I'll send a messenger to tell you the news."

“Yes you definitely should head back now, Zelda. I don’t want you getting in trouble! And thank you for everything.”
I tilted my head and smiled at the Princess. I would anticipate for the messenger to come, so I could hopefully hear some good news about our whole ball! As I concluded our meeting and was about to turn around, I quickly spoke my last few words to her,
“It was nice seeing you again! I’ll talk to you soon,” I said as I waved a good-bye to the Princess of Hyrule.
