Dark took another casual step forward. In actuality, his body was as tense as a coiled spring, but none of his movements showed it.
"Hero? Helping? You have no idea who I am, do you?"
He spoke still with almost no change in tone. Even his eyes locked on Giomanach with lazy contempt, as if he considered the hunter to be a nuisance rather then an actual threat.

Giomanach stepped forward to look Dark fiercely in the eyes, his gaze for once wasn't fixed on the Dreamscaper standing behind Dark...at this time Ember should have taken flight but her wings didn't want to move. Frozen where she stood, watching the scene.
"I don't care who you are but I want you out of the way so I can collect my bounty, I've been chasing her for three years! She's mine!"
He drew her sword from his scabbard and pointed it fiercely at Dark, Ember's blood turned to ice inside her veins.
"Don't!"

"Three years? And you still haven't caught her? That is quite an impressive record of failure."
There was no taunting or mirth in Dark's voice. His tone suggested he might as well be commenting on the falling rain.
When Giomanach pointed a sword at him, he lazily raised his hand to the hilt of his sword and took a step forward. He was now in a good stance to draw and strike should the hunter decide to try and kill him first. Dark also kept a watch out of the corner of his eye for anyone else that might be nearby, though he felt no other presence.

Ember could do nothing but stand back and watch until she felt the familiar pain starting in her again, gradually getting worse and spreading until it felt like she was being cleaved in two by Giomanach's sword. She tried to hold it back but the same shadow warriors Dark had fought when they had first met manifested in the surrounding area...more of them this time about fourteen, too many.
Giomanach knew this was Ember's fault and he looked at her with a feriocity that made her skin crawl.
"You! You can't keep it under control and the laws of Demartes say your life must be forfeit. Anyway...even if I don't catch you Ember you don't have that much longer left to live."
The Shadows began closing in around them all, turning of their unwilling creator, Dark and the Hunter.

Dark blinked, startled for a moment as the shadow creatures appeared. Even more startled was he by Giomanach's reaction to them.
These things came from Ember? I thought this fool had created them last time. A pity she can't seem to control these things.
Dark drew his sword and sliced through the nearest shadow warrior in one swift fluid motion. The others were not so easily caught off guard, and a flurry of attacks ensued. Dark tried as best he could to edge away from Giomanach so as not to accidentally assist the hunter with the shadow people he was battling.

Ember was frozen for a moment until one of her own creations came towards her, blade held high and ready to strike. She drew Epiphany and the clang of steel echoed through the Graveyard as she sliced through one but was suddenly attacked from behind and pinned down, she threw it off and quickly got back to her feet. Maybe it was a good time to leave...Dark wouldn't want to be around her knowing that she made these things even though she had no control over them.
One shadow opened it's fanged mouth and hissed at Dark as another leapt at Giomanach, pinning him to the ground. Ember caught Dark's eyes, as if to say she was sorry.

A shadow creature hissed at Dark. He smashed his shield against its face. Another warrior came at him from behind, and their swords clashed loudly. The Poes hid behind gravestones, terrified to come out. Battle and chaos was all over the graveyard now.
Dark felt right at home.
Ember caught his eye. While Dark was not great at reading other people's emotions, it seemed to him that Ember was trying to apologize for something. Dark ignored the look, concentrating on the two shadows that were attacking him. They could talk once the battle was over.

Another shadow came after Ember and she was forced to fight back, as she slashed it fiercely the black liquid hat oozed from it's injuries hit the grass. It hissed again at Ember but this time her strike took it's head clean off where the body fell twitching to the ground.
Giomanach had thrown his shadow off and killed several more along with it. Only a few were left as he saw that Ember was distracted he tackled her to the ground, knocking Epiphany out of her hands. She struggled and cursed.
"You're mine Dreamscaper."

With one last spin Dark destroyed the two shadow creatures that had been attacking him. That left two more.
Then Dark's eyes caught sight of Ember. She was on the ground, and Giomanach was on top of her. Her sword was laying out of her reach.
Dark muttered a slew of curses and charged through the rain at the two struggling bodies.

Ember tried to get him off and cursed loudly, trying to reach her blade but it was too far for her to reach for, she froze as she felt cold steel against her throat and looked up at Giomanach, there was no pity in his eyes. No thought that she couldn't help being a Dreamscaper... Nothing he thought first of his own gain and that would be taking her life and returning the body back to Demartes for burial in the unmarked grounds where all Dreamscapers were lain after execution.
"No..."
She barely forced the word out but that just made the Hunter smile as he pressed the blade harder against her throat, creating a shallow line of crimson.

The other two shadow creatures were thrown aside. Dark saw a single drop of crimson form under the blade at Ember's throat just as he reached the two of them.
In his hurry, Dark struck with the flat of his blade rather then the sharp edge. It struck Giomanach hard in the side, lifting him up off Ember and throwing him into a pile with the other two shadow creatures. Dark saw the shock on the hunter's face as he flew off his prize and wondered if he had forgotten Dark's presence in his eagerness.
He turned to face the man, sword still drawn, and waited. His features were calm once again as the rain splashed down on him. Softly he began to murmur a dark portal into existence once again.

Ember quickly got off the sodden ground despite the fact she was shaking and quickly wiped the thin line of crimson away from the pale skin on her throat, she looked to see Giomanach was busy fighting off two more shadows...now was a good time to get out of her.
'What's he doing?'
She could hear Dark murmuring in a lannguage that she didn't understand, what was he doing? Ember quickly picked up Epiphany from the ground and resheathed it. She had to go.

The dark portal appeared. Dark was tempted to push Ember inside, but she seemed to have other plans and he did not want to start a fight with her right now. Besides, she did have wings.
"That gate leads to the Goron mountains. You can take and fly from there if you wish. As for me, I'm not sticking my neck out against this guy. Not with these shadow creatures popping into existence."
Dark stepped into the portal. It wavered slowly.

There was a moment's hesitation on Ember's part, she had guessed that Dark knew she was the one responsible for those Shadow warriors despite being unable to control their manifestation but none the less she needed to get out of here unless she wanted to die.
She took a breath and stepped inside the portal after Dark.

The portal closed behind them, leaving a very angry Giomanach behind.
