The vast Desert Colossus stretched out as far as eyesight could perceive...
I walked through the heavy sand as the scorching heat from the sun blazed down on me. I then took my hand and wiped my face, because the sun had been exceptionally hot today. Then I finally made it to a small oasis where a lone palm tree stood and a watering hole was more than convenient. This was the perfect place to at last rest.
I gazed out a few feet ahead of me and I could finally see the tremendous statue before me, which could be none other than the entrance to the Spirit Temple. This temple is where I resided my entire day to. I usually just went there to get away from all the catastrophe that ran about in the Gerudo Fortress. All of the women there would plot and scheme about all of Ganondorf’s evil plans, and I was just sick and tired of hearing that all day. The Spirit Temple was the only place where I didn’t have to listen to all of that.
As I took a break at the oasis, a slight annoyance appeared before me. A pair of cactus-like enemies, more known as Leevers, came out of the sand and charged rapidly towards my direction. I quickly drew my sword and sliced through both of these foes.
Finally, it was time for meto at last enter the immense temple that stood before me. I scanned the area one last time and headed towards the opening which was known as the entrance.

A dark portal spirals into existence within the shadows of the Desert Colossus. I step out of the portal and cringe. The hot desert sun burns brightly, making my stomach churn sickly. Eager to escape the light, I dash into the nearest opening I can find: a large doorway that leads into the Colossus.
Once inside, I take a moment to close my eyes and relax. The lights are dim inside this temple, flickering from torches that hang on the walls. Dark shadows stretch out from every object that can be seen.
"If it weren't for all the sand, this would be a decent place to live," I muse to myself, taking in my dark surroundings with great appreciation. Like the Water Temple, the air in this place was laced with a faint trace of evil. No doubt, many monsters still dwell within.
I see stairs before me and decide to explore a bit more. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I see a shadow near the entrance. Expecting it to be a weak monster seeking shelter, I reach my hand back lazily and grasp the hilt of my sword.

I slowly entered the Spirit Temple as if it were my own home. At last I was out of the blazing sunlight and into the cool shade of the temple. The ambiance around me felt the same as it always did, the sound of little helpless spirits roaming about, the statues which were so old you could see the decay on them, and the torches that hung on the wall which provided a bit of warmth in this chilly temple.
The same old was here with me in the temple, except I felt another presence a bit deeper within the temple. I quickly looked at the area surrounding me and I saw nothing but a few pots and statues. There was nothing else to be seen around me. I quickly gazed up the stairs and saw a shadow-like figure. Is that a person…? Or just a shadow?, I thought to myself.
I believed that the figure probably saw me and it was most likely nothing but another one of those enemies that wandered this temple. I drew my sword and crept up the stairs. I just wanted to get rid of the thing as quickly as possible, and be on my way.

Lazily I watch as it creeps up the stairs. As it gets closer, I begin to make out more of what it looks like. 'It' is actually a 'she', a Gerudo by the look of it. They do live in the desert near here, I believe. I think to myself, trying to recall a vague memory that isn't mine. I knew it wasn't mine, since this was the first time I'd been to the desert.
So enwrapped in my thoughts was I, that I did not see the strike coming at me until it was almost too late. The speed of the foe's movements catches me off guard, and I barely pull my sword up in time to block the attack. Unbalanced as I am, the force of the blow sends me rolling backwards. I leap to my feet as quickly as I can, grabbing for my shield and trying to regain my focus.
